This fused glass gingerbread man has been made using hand crushed brown glass which was fired to 800 degrees Celsius in a specialist kiln. The shape was formed by containing the crushed glass in a simple stainless steel cookie cutter. After 13 hours of firing and cooling, the blank form was hand painted and decorated with glass embellishments such as buttons and the bow tie. It was then returned to the kiln and fired again to 750 degrees Celsius to fix these decorations permanently. Once cooled, a jewellery bail was glued on to hold a satin ribbon to allow you to hang this decoration in your home. He stands approximately 12 cm tall and 8.5cm wide.
