About this item
A one-colour hand-printed linocut entitled 'House Sparrows'. I love making prints of birds, as you can see by the others in my shop, especially ones that I see and hear everyday. Sparrows just seem like this ball of energy, so it was quite a challenge to capture them still for a short while! The print portrays a male and female house sparrow taking a few seconds out before busying themselves once again. I created this print at the Craft Festival at Bovey Tracey, Devon while demonstrating linocut printmaking in 2019. Warm grey ink on off-white Daler-Rowney 220gsm acid-free paper. From an edition of 100, signed and numbered. The print image measures H14xW10cm. The paper measures H30xW20cm All prints will be posted flat in a cellophane sleeve and protective packaging.

I love making prints of UK birds, especially ones that I see around my garden and neighbourhood. They are so full of character. Sparrows are hard to see still for more than a second, so I felt it a challenge worth pursuing!
