I started printmaking because of my cat, Otto. Never having done any printmaking before, I felt compelled one day to create a print of him. After this I was hooked, and I've been printmaking ever since. I love the limitations of the mediums, and the way they make you think creatively to produce an image.
My work falls into three camps, 'landscapes', 'wildlife' and 'donkeys'. Now you might wonder why donkeys have their own category, being wildlife, so I'll explain. My donkeys exist in a different (and somewhat abstract) place, where they are free to have adventures, and get up to no good, without us pesky humans getting in the way.
I really enjoy creating prints of all these subjects, and the puzzles each subject throws at you, whether that be chimneys, beaks or donkeys on top of mountains.
I took part in both Sky Arts Portrait and Landscape Artist Of The Year TV series, reaching the semi-finals in the latter, and I also co-organise the annual Sheffield Print Fair.

I so LOVE James's work, I have a small collection now, and this is another beauty. So well made, you can feel the love coming off the page...my starling mumeration is very happy on my wall.

Really pleased with this purchase. James contacted me as soon as the order was placed to let me know he was posting it as soon as possible, which he did. Print arrived really quickly and in great condition. Excellent service.
I have bought a few of James' prints over the years and I have never been disappointed. I love Sheffield as place and this print really captures that special uniqueness of Sheffield.

Really pleased with the prints which look absolutely fantastic. They arrived extremely well packaged in perfect condition. I couldn't be more pleased and I am now rather conflicted as to whether I should keep them as opposed to gift them this Xmas as intended.
