My mother and I have amassed knitting patterns, sewing patterns and vintage buttons into quite the impressive collection. Dozens of knitting patterns, hundreds of sewing patterns and thousands of buttons have all been sorted, cateqorised and filed and are now available to you. It’s a daunting task, to get them listed here, but they need new homes. I hope you enjoy the selections.

Full description

This pattern is for a pair of stylish sweaters. Knitted in Mohair (similar to double knitting) it should knit up rapidly. Using two different sized needles the pattern shows a way to achieve a unique ‘bubble’ pattern. The finished garments look like you’ve used a complicated stitch pattern when, in fact, it’s quite easy. Then you have a choice of front openings. You can keep it plain, or add a flourish with a ruffled front.

The pattern is sized for a 81-97 cm (32 - 38 inch) bust.

This is a genuine paper pattern from the 1980's. It is not a PDF.

Even though the pattern was designed in the 1980's, it looks bang up to date to me, what do you think?

Vintage designs and ideas are making a comeback these days and many retro patterns are still fashionable, just like this one. But, as a 21st Century twist, I might lengthen the body by a few more inches, but that's all I think I would change.

I do not carry wool in my shop, neither do I have any connections to anyone who could provide the wool. This pattern is over 30 years old but, like any pattern (old or new) you can choose your own wools to use, just be sure to check the tension advised in the pattern. If you're unsure, take the pattern to a yarn shop, or haberdashery shop and ask their advice - they will be able to help you.
