I have always wanted to design a big flower on a cushion and the Rose was the most obvious flower to choose. There is a large coloured intarsia chart to follow to knit the rose and it is recommended that yarn bobbins are used for the different colours as it avoids the yarn tangling. I have knitted the rose in 3 shades of pink, but you could use other colours to reflect the wonderful range of roses that are available. The cushion is knitted in Stockinette Stitch and is knitted in one piece. There is a 4 button opening at the back. Instructions are given for knitting 4 rose buds to form buttons.
