Textile art picture appliqued and hand embroidered - a sunny, summer, seaside scene hand stitched from fabric remnants. Scraps of fabric in blues, greens and sandy colours have been appliqued, by machine stitching, to create a bright seascape. A white lighthouse perches on a rocky spur and a few stitches on the horizon suggest a distance ship. Details of the design have been hand stitched in cotton threads, some of them vintage. I have done my best to photograph this item accurately but monitor settings may cause variation in colour. The back of the plaque is neatened with thick whitel 'felt' - a commercial remnant; and a hanging loop, of hand made hemp cord, is securely stitched in place.
