After 30 + years of recycling and restoring old jewellery as a hobby, it was time for me to step out of the rat race and start enjoying life. After spending so much time in fast paced jobs, such as working as a courier and a merchandiser, I realised I was not getting any younger and it was time for change. And so Silver and Retro was born. It brings together the main inspirations for my work. Sterling silver, silver clay, retro fashions and recycling. My studio is a tiny, tiny 2m x 2m shed at the end of my garden allotment, although I store materials and other stuff in a storage container on a coastal cliff - the seaside being another great inspiration. I've never wanted to be known as someone who just uses silver or just uses resins and so on. Who said that we had to limit ourselves and live under a label? I've spent too many years doing that and so now you'll see me as I feel that day! Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy looking around my shop.
