Corsets and bags made from beautiful colours and textures

I learnt to sew from my mother, who made clothes for me and my brother as we grew up, and in my late teens I was making many of my own clothes, and altering charity shop purchases to how I wanted them. As my children grew up I mainly made dressing up clothes for them. Now I have more time for myself, I can return to sewing and indulge my enjoyment of beautiful fabrics, both for their colour and combinations of colours, and their texture.

I started making bags out of frustration of not being able to find anything I liked, and not being able to afford to get a new bag as frequently as I liked. With these bags I have found an excuse to use some of my local fabric shop's brightest and most colourful fabrics.

I made my first corset at the beginning of 2016, and have found myself hooked. The more I learn, the more I realise that there is to learn, and how little I know. The corsets here represent part of my steep learning curve, and I hope that with each corset I make and each new technique I try, I will learn and get a little better.
