This lovely table cloth was from the York car boot sale, and had been stitched by the stall holders Grandmother when she was a young girl. However, it needed some care and attention. I made a promise to her that I would turn it into something pretty and useful once again.

Full description
This pretty make up bag or purse is upcycled from vintage embroidery, once a thread bare 1940s tablecloth. Each corner has been stitched to make four pretty bags, edged with a shell motif, in an art deco style.
The purse measures 17 cm by 17 cm. It is backed onto cotton to strengthen it, but it is still a soft little bag.
There is a 16 cm purple zip with a flower head pull, and it is lined in a dark purple and gold Indian print.
The front embroidery is a shell shape full of flowers, and on the back is a little trail of blooms. It is finished off with my own embroidered name tag.
Please wash on a cool short cycle, and leave to dry naturally.
