Full description
Here is the prettiest piece of old embroidery ever. I rescued this, and a beautiful pile of vintage pieces from a forgotten part of a table top sale. It’s been brought back to life with careful washing, a bit of TLC and a good press. With its delicate front panel of a thatched cottage, it’s not your everyday purse, but something to be saved for special occasions. It would be perfect at a vintage wedding for instance, or it hung up somewhere special as a little piece of craft work in its own right. It is unashamedly nostalgic, with its pretty cottage garden, and would make a lovely gift for a lover of textiles or vintage, or maybe someone who is learning to embroider.
The front panel has been backed with cotton for strength, but it is still a soft little bag. There are tiny clusters of little ruby and gold glass beads stitched onto the top of the embroidery.
The back panel is a cream cotton/linen union to give it some strength.
It measures 16 cm wide and 13 cm down with a dark green 16 cm long zip opening.
It is lined with a floral green and gold vintage cotton, and finished off with my own embroidered name tag.
I like to reuse where possible. Your little bag will be posted out using clean, recycled packaging from my stash, and posted out as Royal Mail 2nd class.
