This sack is inspired by Jack Valentine, Norfolk’s mysterious February gift giver. For over 200 years, Jack has crept up to doorsteps on Valentine’s Eve, knocked, left surprises…and vanished before anyone could catch him. Some say he travelled with Snatch Valentine, who tugged gifts away on invisible string; others remember the thrill of handmade cards, sweets, and tiny treasures left in secret.
When my sister and I were little, we lived for that knock — two small gift bags waiting on the step, never once seeing who left them. That feeling of wonder, mischief, and kindness is woven into my illustration of Jack ‘Rabbit’ Valentine, a playful hare inspired by Norfolk’s folklore and the long‑eared jackrabbit of old tales.
This personalised sack is my way of keeping that tradition alive — a small doorway into magic, ready for your own family’s Valentine’s Eve.

Machine washable on a low setting. Do not bleach or tumble dry. Not suitable for children under three due to drawstring cord, which could represent a strangulation hazard. Please supervise young children during use

Designed and hand printed in my Norfolk studio, each sack becomes a tiny doorway into the world of Jack Valentine, the mysterious February gift giver who’s been knocking on doors for over 200 years.
Your sack arrives printed with:
“Special Delivery” (in Valentine Red)
“From Jack Valentine for” (in black)
your chosen personalised name and initial in Valentine Red,
plus my illustrated Jack ‘Rabbit’ Valentine - a playful hare inspired by the old tales, taken from my original ink and watercolour artwork.
Made from a beautifully textured linen-look polyester blend, this 30 x 40cm sack is just the right size for sweets, stationery, tiny treasures, or a bundle of surprises left quietly on the doorstep...just as Jack would have done. The bright red drawstrings add a cheerful pop of colour and keep everything safely tucked away until that magical knock.
