About Illustrated By Nikki

Illustrated By Nikki

And so it was - the ordinary turned extraordinary, one stroke at a time...

Once upon a time, in the heart of Norfolk’s enchanted embrace, there lived a builder of dream homes by day - a wielder of hammers and blueprints. But when the moon tiptoed across the sky, this same builder transformed into an artist of whimsy!

Her name? Nikki, the smile-wielding sorceress, the sandwich connoisseur (especially those of the fish finger variety). Born amidst the rolling hills, she booped the snootles of ponies and counted the toe beans of squirrels.

But her true magic lay in her studio, perched by the River Tas. From there, she’d spy on the river’s secrets - the way it whispered to the reeds and winked at the stars. And oh, her trusty sidekick, Georgie Jack Rascal, the pint-sized whirlwind! Together, they’d explore the Tas Valley, unearthing inspiration like treasure hunters of old.

By moonlight, she’d dip her pen (because quills are so last century) into inky spells, just like her childhood idols - Beatrix Potter and Jill Barklem. Their illustrations had fuelled her dreams: water voles sipping tea, badgers wearing bowler hats and buttonholes, and otters bobbing along the river in unicorn inflatables.

And so, Nikki wove her own enchantments. Her inky lines, like raised braille, connected her to the art. But wait! The eagle-eyed would spot her secret: Morse Code, woven into the ink. Crack the code, and you’d find messages from the woodland sprites themselves.

But what truly brought her illustrations to life? Watercolours! They splashed across her paper, turning majestic stags into sunset hues and leaves into emerald whispers. And then, through the magic of her hands and tools, Nikki hand printed her illustrations onto keepsakes. Mugs, linens, and treasures alike carried the charm of her art into new realms, ready to brighten someone’s world.

And her words? Oh, they danced off the page, too. Nikki crafted whimsical poems and enchanting stories to accompany her art -tales of wonder that gave each piece a voice of its own, inviting curious souls to step into her hidden realms.

So, dear wanderer, if you ever chance upon Nikki’s illustrations, listen closely. You might find joy in the ordinary turned fantastical, taste the magic of fish finger sandwiches, and dance the waltz of wonder. For her art isn’t just lines and colours - it’s a doorway into a storybook world, waiting to be explored.
