The colours shown in each picture may not be exactly as they appear in the artwork due to differences in the display modes of individual monitors and screens.

The drawing started off as a practice sketch from a photo I'd found, then became an exercise in doing a smaller drawing and a chance to practice drawing water (it's not as easy as you might think to get it to look right).

Full description

This drawing depicts a lone tree standing in the shallows of a lake, with hills and mountains in the background. The gentle ripples of the lake suggest a quiet breeze blowing across the surface as the tree stands watch over the scene.

The drawing is quite small, measuring 17 x 13 cm (or 24 x 20 cm including its cream-coloured mount) and would make a lovely free-standing artwork on a shelf or mantlepiece, its neutral colours allowing you to frame it to suit the décor of your room.

The drawing is signed and dated in the bottom left corner.. It was drawn on 135 gsm drawing paper using Faber Castell 9000 graphite pencils.
