Given the large gaps between the first three of this series, I wanted to complete the fourth one in a shorter time frame. Having come across the photograph on which this is based, I decided it would make for a bit of variety in the series by being both a landscape format and a more detailed painting overall. The exposed and underwater rocks also made for an interesting challenge.

Full description
The fourth in my Bird on a Perch series is a Dipper, or Water Ouzel. The painting is based on a photograph I came across in an old BBC Wildlife magazine I uncovered while having a de-clutter session. Unlike the rest of the series, this one is in landscape format and has a more detailed background as a change from the out-of-focus scenic impression of the earlier paintings in the series.
