This design is inspired by Norfolk’s quiet February tradition of Jack Valentine - the soft knock at the door, the secret parcel left behind, and the giver gone before anyone can catch a glimpse. When my sister and I were little, we waited for that knock with our hearts thumping, two small gifts appearing on the doorstep as if by magic. That feeling of warmth in the middle of winter, that spark of wonder, has stayed with me ever since.
My Jack ‘Rabbit’ Valentine illustration grew from those memories: a long-eared messenger shaped by Norfolk folklore and painted in my original ink and watercolour style. I wanted to capture the gentleness of the tradition - the kindness, the mystery, the quiet joy - and weave it into something you can use and treasure every day.
These personalised mugs are my way of passing that magic on: a small ritual of warmth, a reminder that you are loved, and a little piece of Norfolk folklore to hold in your hands.
Safety information
Bone China mugs conform to EN 12875-4:2006 standards and is microwave and dishwasher safe. Not suitable for children under three. Enamel mugs are not dishwasher or microwave safe. These mugs may contain manufacturing quirks including minor dimples, black dots, or surface blemishes—these are considered part of the rustic finish. Handle with care and wash gently by hand. Not suitable for children under three.

This personalised Jack ‘Rabbit’ Valentine mug is inspired by Norfolk’s quiet February tradition of Jack Valentine - the gentle knock, the secret gift, and the little flutter of wonder left on the doorstep. Each mug is printed by me in my Norfolk studio and features a print of my original ink and watercolour illustration of Jack ‘Rabbit’ Valentine.
On the front is your chosen initial with the hare illustration; on the reverse, your name, “You Are So Loved”, and a tiny heart. Placement of the hare may vary slightly depending on the initial to ensure the best visual balance.
