This picture represents a well known group of trees seen by all those travelling on the main road to Cornwall and is locally known as the 'nearly there trees'.
As I drive past it so regularly I felt inspired to try to recreate it in fabric and I wanted to make it a rainbow tree to support the diversity of our community.

Full description

Handmade, unique and ethically produced fabric picture showing a bright representation of the 'Nearly there' trees, a stand of trees indicating to those travelling to Cornwall that they are nearly there. The sky is blue with a hint of cloud and the trees are straight with a rainbow of leaves clustering above them. The writing at the base of the picture says 'proud to be home'.

This is a glazed picture in a deep grey frame, set into a white card mount. The picture uses a mixture of textiles, including sari material, and coloured threads. I use different sewing techniques, choosing to hand sew and machine sew using a variety of different threads to create my images which are inspired by Cornwall where I live.

I recycle frames and fabrics and endeavour to work in a sustainable manner to prevent materials going to landfill. There may be slight marks on the frames as they are not brand new.

Frame size: 14.5 x 19.5cm approx

Picture size: 9 x 14 cm approx

Picture can be wall mounted.
