These ceramic, humankind/nature wall pots have been inspired from a recurring theme running throughout my work, conveying a sense of the often fragile balance between humankind, nature and an interest in Folklore and Mythology, often connected to the rythmn of the seasons and the time of the year.
Leaving the natural edge of the clay, suggests the beauty of the repeated lines, shapes and textures to be found in nature.
This piece has a suggestion of Spring, incorporating hand modelled Primula flower and and real Primula leaf rolled into the wet clay.
Other shapes and textures reminicent of pollen, seeds and new growth.
This wall pot stands alone as a piece of nature inspired wall art, that can incorporate real plants, more suited to succulents or a small ivy, to be used outdoors, or as a vase for for dried flowers or seed heads, bringing a bit of the outdoors, indoors.

This Ceramic Art Wall Pot, has been made from robust Stoneware clay, using handbuilding ceramic methods such as modelling, slab rolling and press moulding using a collection of clay moulds made by myself of various plants and oother found materials.
After carefull drying, these wall pots have a first firing in the kiln allowing the art work to be glazed without fear of breaking the piece.
Stoneware glazes, oxides and coloured stains are then layered onto the clay work, creating colour and texture when melting and fusing with the form during a second high temperature firing, making the piece frost proof, so safe for outdoor use with a shiny and matt surface to touch.
The completed art work is approx 17cm at the highest point, approx 13 cm at the widest point and approx 7 cm in depth, measuring from the tip of the nose.
Can be hung by screwing straight into a wall fence through the two hanging holes cut specially into the top, or hung by the loop made with garden wire between the two holes (as in image)
The planting pocket is suitable for small alpines or any other plant which dont need much soil, or an arrangement of dried flowers or grasses etc if used indoors.
Small drainage hole to the front at side of chin area.
