This ceramic piece has been made from Stoneware clay, imprinted with Pine fronds from a tree in my garden, just one of a recent batch of Nature Sprites.
After an initial first firing, the ceramic piece has been stained with various metallic oxides and a clear Stoneware glaze, enhancing the fine lines and details from the imprinted plant materials, before being fired for a second time up to a high temperature making the Sprite frost proof, so suitable for an outdoor setting.
Can be hung by threading a length of garden wire through the clay bead attached to the reverse as shown in one of the images.
This Pine textured Nature Sprite is appox 13 cm at it's widest point, 9 cm at it's highest point and approx depth of 4 cm inclusive of hanging mechanism an the reverse.

The wings of this Nature Sprite have been created by impressing Pine Fronds from my own garden into the wet clay.
Inspired by Nature, Folklore and an obsession with Flowe Fairies as a child, these small sculptural Sprites come ready to hang, bringing a bit of interest to a small cornerof the garden on an ivy covered wall or nestled into a bush, but would be equally happy in an indoors setting, brightening up a small space or beside a grouping of House plants.
Nice on their own or as a group, bringing a bit of the outdoors indoors.
