My background is in Graphic Design and although I'm now retired I still enjoy the creative process. A lot of my work features birds and flowers and I particularly love combining different materials and patterns to create colourful, one-of-a-kind mixed media pieces.

Full description
This hand sewn fabric picture is from my ‘Birds & blooms’ collection and shows a pretty folk bird perching among the flowers.
I’ve had the background design printed onto cotton fabric and then embellished the flowers with embroidery threads and seed beads. Small sections of fabrics, including Indian embroidery, have been used to create a border and set the colour palette for the bird and flowers.
The bird has been created with fabrics, including batik and I've taken designs from the border to decorate the bird’s wing.
The picture comes in a good quality double mount. Outer measurements 9 x 7 inches. Visible area 6.5 x 4.5 inches.
