Not satisfied with the mountains I'd done in a previous painting, I decided to create a new painting based around a mountain landscape. I also wanted to do a pastel painting as a greyscale, rather than using graphite pencils or going for full colour

Full description
This is a greyscale pastel painting depicting an aerial view of a river wending its way through a valley between mountain ranges. In the distance, a storm is brewing and heavy rain is beginning to make its way down the valley, chasing the sunlight that is reflecting off the river.
This pastel artwork measures 19 x 27 cm (or 29 x 37 cm including its coffee-coloured mount) in portrait format and was painted on Fabriano Ingres pastel paper using Faber Castell pastel pencils.
This painting is also available as a print.
