I have loved and collected these appliqued napkins and tray cloths for many years, particularly for the tiny hand stitching, and the pretty colour combinations. If they have had too a hard life at the tea table, they can start a new life by being made into something in my accessories collections.

Full description
This pretty little purse or make up bag is upcycled from a sweet set of vintage floral design napkins. Some were a bit tea stained or had lost their other half, but I was able to create a set of little bags from them. They are perfect for keeping coins, souvenirs, or make up in and will always come in handy as an organiser inside a tote bag!
The fabric may have travelled here from Hong Kong or China in the 1980’s.Perhaps a business trip or an adventure holiday. The lovely applique work is worked by hand with tiny stitches and has a soft colour pallet of washed out green and pink. Its gentle faded design and frayed edges has an old fashioned vintage appeal. This would make a great gift for a textile lover or as a summer birthday present.
The fabric is backed with soft cotton to give it some stability.
The front has a pink flower motif and 2 tiny buttons, and the back has a small rose bud in the corner.
It is lined with a floral poly cotton fabric, and there is a practical finger loop to hang it up and admire the craft work.
Blue zip fastening measures 16 cm.
The width is 16 cm.
The length is 16 cm.
This purse is finished off with my own embroidered name tag.
