This miniature ceramic framed landscape, depicts an Autumnal time of the year over three hand cut and hand painted ceramic squares.
After a first firing, the biscuit fired clay pieces are then painted with special ceramic paints called under glazes, then dipped into a clear earthenware glaze before being placed back into the kiln for a second time, deepening the colours and giving a glossy, smooth finish.
The completed landscapes are then mounted onto a painted and varnished backing, hand cut from salvaged wood and fitted with a hanging mechanism.
This series of art works are signed on the front and back, looking good individually to decorate a small space, but also hanging as part of a group.
This piece measures 20 cm by 7 cm and a thickness of approx 1 cm.
Designed by Susan Wade - French in Falkirk, Scotland.
