I had previously made a few reduction linoprints but this was the largest I have so far attempted. There are a few logistical problems associated with making a large print, the main being lack of space to carve and print etc. This print is made with shades of black/grey and focusses on the contrast between the modern Beetham tower fading in the background and the old architecture and canal.

Full description
This is an original reduction linoprint of Lock 92 (Dukes lock) in the Castlefield Basin, Manchester. It is hand drawn, carved and printed from my tiny studio in Saddleworth. They are printed onto various Awagami Printmaking Papers including: Shiramine, Hosho, Bamboo and Masa.
Lock 92 is at the junction of the Rochdale canal and Bridgwater Canal and is an area that was badly neglected until the regeneration of Manchester. It is now a thriving area for business. This print was made as part of a project from my last employment at Wilson Cooke.
Paper size: 555 x 710mm
Print size: 390 x 555mm
This will fit into an Ikea 50 x 70 frame, but will require a new mount cutting to fit.
It will be sold unframed and posted in a tube.
