I often drive through the cutting from Delph to Marsden to visit my favourite yoga and coffee house and walk along the Huddersfield narrow canal to Slaithwaite. The drive is a very picturesque yet rugged trip through the Pennine moorland of Marsden Moor, where the sheep roam freely and often delay motorists by wandering along the road as they please. It's a journey of around 7 miles and is a great walk from doorstep to Marsden village. Along the drive is the terrace with the chimney proudly standing sentinel and just waiting to be made into a linoprint.
