We have all had time to rest this year and that had me thinking about how as the wheel of the year turned into autumn, how a time for hibernating was upon us. I felt drawn to depicting this with nature and how the hare burrows down deep in the earth for shelter and warmth. I choose the colours of blues and green to depict the sleepy, soft, dreamy nature of the dreaming time. The leaves that the hare sleeps upon are imprinted from a plum tree in my garden and an ammonite further relates to the depth of the earth and its treasures it keeps within. The hare rests under the light from a full moon.
