I completed this piece recently, wanting to wait until I knew where the décor colour would be heading. The actual carving was made a couple of years ago as I was having dreams of Bears which in turn led me to look further into the spiritual side of their meaning. There is much to look into with Bear but in this piece I felt I wanted to bring over its nurturing and protective side as we head into Winter and knuckle down deep into ourselves, and our homes in the warm.

Full description
The Bear is an oval shaped carved ceramic wall hanging with a hook attached on the back. The carved image is of a white polar bear cradling protectively a figure in his arms against his chest. The figure is facing out but with their eyes closed and wears over long hair, a warm hood. The two connect as the figure slips a hand out of the warm clothing to lay it upon the arm of the bear. The Bear has beautiful fur marks indented that make the piece tactile to touch, and as you run a hand over the curved lines of the figures face and garments they also add to the sensory feel of the carving.
