In the Summer of 2024 the skies were graced with the beautiful display of the Perseid meteor shower during August, this is one of the best meteor showers of the year and is a wonderful stargazing event. The Cosmic Comet Hare was inspired by this meteor shower and as I watched the lightening streaks of the meteor shower through the summer sky I felt drawn to using it within my art. My big blue hares are all one off original pieces that carry a theme within each one. Each mark is cut into the clay slip individually to bring the hare alive and it is all done intuitively allowing the hare to flow naturally. This Cosmic Comet hare is set in a beautiful turquoise slip that has a magical intensity about it.

Full description
Ceramic flat hare cut and created from a slab of clay and covered in a turquoise slip. The design and flow of the hare and theme is then cut intuitively and allowed to dry then fired at 1060 degrees, which afterwards it is fired again with a transparent glaze over to allow for durability. This is not frost proof so cannot be placed outside. Approx measurements are 13" L x 5.5" H, there are two hooks on the back for a stable hang with cotton cord.
