This sweet little purse was once a tired and damaged tea cosy from Sue Ryder vintage - my favourite charity shop in York. With some careful TLC, it has become a pretty and practical purse, ready to be used once again.

Full description
This sweet little cosmetics bag or make up bag is made from an old embroidered tea cosy. Its sweet design of a cottage garden bed of flowers has a real period charm. This little vintage fragment is so typical of home made embroidery from the art deco period, through to the 1950’s. It would make a lovely gift for a vintage textile lover, for a gardener, or to send out as a little virtual hug for someone this Christmas.
The embroidery has been stitched onto cotton to strengthen it, but it is still a soft little bag.
It measures 17 cm wide and 13 cm long, with a 17 cm red zip opening.
The front is made of vintage embroidery with 3 little buttons, and the back is blue recycled denim to give it some edge. It is lined with a pretty vintage cotton.
There is a scalloped finger hook to hang it up somewhere nice and admire the flowers, and it is finished off with my own embroidered name tag.
I like to recycle. Your bag will be posted out packaged in clean reused wrapping from my hoard, and sent as Royal Mail 2nd class.
