Hi there and welcome to my shop. Here you will find old embroideries, vintage fabrics and sparkling remnants made into something pretty and practical once again. I re-stock slowly but surely, so do keep coming back for a browse.

I spied this wonderful old linen tablecloth at York car boot. Altho its life covering the table in a country house was over, I was able to still find some sections to make a set of pretty makeup bags.

Full description
A pretty makeup bag or purse, with machine stitched embroidery, in sweet pastel colours. The stylised flowers have an Art Deco feel, whilst its softly faded appearance gives away its history. It was once the corner of a grand, but now retired, vintage tablecloth. It would make a lovely present for a vintage fabric fan, or an Art Deco lover.
I have used a different section of embroidery for the front and back.
The linen is backed onto cotton, but it is still a soft little pouch, with 4 tiny buttons on the front.
It measures 17 cm by 15 cm with a dusty pink 17 cm zip opening.
Inside, the lining is a sweet Japanese cotton, brought back from Tokyo for me by a friend.
There is a finger hook to hang it up somewhere special, and admire the design, and it is finished off with my own embroidered label.
I like to reuse. Your bag will be posted out wrapped in clean, recycled packaging.
It will be posted out by Royal Mail 2nd class.
