Full description

A very special, paper heart keepsake for a paper wedding anniversary, with custom word tags attached with golden thread to make them meaningful to the couple and to remind them of their anniversary or wedding. With advanced notice I can acquire newspaper from a specific date when it is published. Backdated papers will incur additional costs. The heart will be ready mounted for framing in a 6 x 6 inch frame.

Words from newspapers take on new meanings when spun into yarn and taken out of their original context and used to create this beautiful, individually hand-crafted unique first anniversary piece (artist's signature on each piece). The word tags can be taken from the newspaper if possible, or printed if you have specific requirements and they are attached with golden thread to the piece by hand.

The newspaper yarn used in these recycled greetings cards is carefully handspun from hand cut, thin strips of newspaper. I have tried spindles/shredders, but I find that using my fingers helps keep the yarn fine as possible as well as allowing me more control over the colours and textures produced. I also think there is something important about knowing the newspaper has physically passed through the hands of the maker, which transforms the bad news stories and makes them a part of your stories as you send them to your friends and family.

As this is made to order please contact me with any date you need this posted by.
