Charoite is a complex silicate mineral found only in Siberia, featuring beautiful swirling patterns of lavender, violet, lilac, white and grey-black.
The stone has a silky lustre and occasional chatoyancy.
It was discovered relatively recently (1940's) and known simply as 'lilac stone', but remained virtually unknown until the 1970's when it was recognised as a genuine new gemstone and renamed as Charoite.

Sparkly gemstone earrings featuring an 8mm Charoite bead topped with a pair of 3.5mm faceted Labradorite and 4.5mm faceted Amethyst highlighted with tiny 2mm faceted Pyrite.
Charoite is a beautiful and unusual purple gemstone that showcases varying shades of lilac and violet swirled with white.
The patterns and colours are unique to each stone.
I have combined the natural, undyed Charoite with AAA grade faceted stones of Labradorite, Amethyst and Pyrite, threaded onto sterling silver pins and hung from sterling silver ear-wires.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, this would make a lovely gift for a birthday, anniversary, Valentine's or mother's day.
These earrings measure approximately 1.25 inches (3cm). excluding the ear-wires.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
Price includes delivery within mainland UK.
