I have had a collection of old crystal necklaces for quite a while, some came from family members, some I bought at antique markets
I've used one or two beads in my jewellery from time to time, but having seen a decoration made using pearl type beads I realised I could do something similar with these beads.
The first few I made last year, were quite successful so I've made some more this year.

A pretty decoration for your tree, or anywhere, Made from crystal beads from old necklaces.
Large, red, oval beads alternate with green bicone beads, the beads get gradually smaller from bottom to top.
The decoration is strung on nylon coated wire which forms the hanging loop at the top. A green, disc shaped bead, provides a platform for the largest red bead and tiny red seed beads finish the piece, above and below silver coloured crimps to hold it all together.
These decorations are all one off, I have a small collecton of old crystal necklaces, mostly from the 40s and 50s, some more modern. As these are all different, and limited, I can only make so many decorations with them.
