Black sea glass is relatively rare, what looks like black glass is often actually dark green when you hold it up to the light. It is usuall from champagne bottles, possibly from ship launches. This is the second piece I've made using real black glass. I bought a selection of nice scarves from a local charity shop and this one seemed to really suit this quite large pendant.

Full description

A statement necklace, the pendant is made with a large, oval piece of black sea glass in a mount made with beads. The pendant has strands of black, vintage, seed beads along it's edge, each one ending in either a natural or grey freshwater pearl. The central, longest strand has a small silver coloured heart at it's end.

The pendant has loops of beads at the top, used to thread it onto a silver grey chiffon scarf which has silver fabric at each end with a geometric pattern woven into it. The scarf came from a local charity shop.

As the scarf is fastened by tying the ends, it can be worn as long or s short as you like, the ends can hang over one shoulder or down the back.

The pendant is approximately 5cm wide and 4cm deep, but with the bead strands it reaches approximately 9cm. The scarf measure approximately 110cm.

A dramatic piece, to wear with evening wear or anytime you like.
