The inspiration for my Easter Hare cards blossomed from my love for folklore and the enchanting stories that shaped my childhood. Living in Norfolk, surrounded by countryside rich in history, I’ve always been drawn to tales that connect us to nature and the seasons. The Easter Hare is close to my heart, rooted in German folklore with a nod to the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eostre, blending ancient traditions with whimsy.
I was fascinated to learn that Jacob Grimm, one of the Brothers Grimm, helped shape our modern Easter traditions. His writings linked the hare and its eggs to spring festivities, weaving a timeless narrative.
To bring this magical character to life, I wrote a heartfelt poem, The Tale of the Easter Hare. Every word captures the season’s spirit and charm. My hope is these cards will brighten baskets and bring a touch of magic to everyone who receives them.

Full description
Step into a world of springtime wonder with this delightful pack of 3 Easter cards, each featuring my enchanting Easter Hare illustration. Unlike the modern Easter Bunny, the Easter Hare harks back to German folklore, where an egg-laying hare, known as Oschter Haws, left colourful eggs for well-behaved children. Inspired by this rich history, my Easter Hare also nods to the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eostre, whose companion was said to be a hare.
This whimsical character rests in his cosy springtime hollow, nestled in a rocking chair as he checks his 'Good or Bad Egg List' twice, much like Santa Claus. Sipping tea from his Emma Bridgewater-inspired 'Polka Egg' tea set, he’s surrounded by vibrant eggs, spring flowers, and a cheeky leveret, adding mischief and magic to the scene.
Each 148 x 148 mm card is beautifully printed on Rives Shetland cardstock, a premium paper with a weave-like texture across its bright white surface. This uncoated finish adds a tactile charm, making the cards as delightful to touch as they are to behold. Inside, you’ll find the greeting “You’re A Good Egg” paired with my poem sharing the Tale of the Easter Hare. There’s plenty of space for your own message. Every pack includes three cards and matching Kraft envelopes, adding a rustic touch.
Printed in the UK, these cards blend folklore, whimsy, and charm. Perfect for Easter baskets, thoughtful wishes, or adding magic to the season, they’re sure to make somebunny’s day egg-stra special!
