My background is in Graphic Design and although I'm now retired I still enjoy the creative process. A lot of my work features birds and flowers and I particularly love combining different materials and patterns to create colourful, one-of-a-kind mixed media pieces.

Full description
This colourful fabric picture of a folk bird in a Spring garden would make a lovely gift for a bird lover.
The design has been printed onto cotton fabric and then given a light wash with layers of yellow and teal paints and inks.
I've added embroidery to the tiny flowers on the bird's chest and embellished the larger flowers with embroidery threads and seed beads. The wing has been made from a layer of batik and a section of Indian embroidery.
The picture comes in a good quality double mount. Outer measurement is 8 inches square and visible area is just under 5.5 inches square.
