I love these vintage French Linen teatowels and the fabric is great for bags as it is nice and strong. I love, also, the connection with the past as they often have the original owners' initials embroidered on them, as is the case here. I wanted to line it to protect the embroidery stitches and chose this cotton check, a man's shirt in a previous life!

I made this shopping bag with a vintage French linen teatowel and added some old lace and slowstitched embroidery to decorate it. It is lined with upcycled cotton and has an internal pocket. It is nice and roomy for shopping, books and other everyday stuff.
