I love making Japanese rice bags, they are so versatile and give scope to using all kinds of fabric. This one is made from pieces of cotton and on the exterior side ( blues ) is in patchwork and then embellished with slow stitching. I decided to go for a contrast in the interior but the bag is reversible so you can choose which colours you prefer.

Full description
Made from cotton fabric, this is a very useful drawstring bag in the Japanese rice bag style. It is reversible, one side in blue patchwork, which is handstitched with slowstitching, and the other in pinks. It is approximately 7" square ( 18cms) so very roomy. Great for projects, toys, kids shoes etc. The drawstring is made from white cotton tape. It can be thrown in the washing as with all cotton fabric.
