I was very lucky to be given some beads from a friend who wasnt able to use them anymore and I though they would look fab on an evening bag. I always have bits of lace and crochet doilies which I have picked up in second shops and brocantes and thought these colours looked lovely together, very neutral but very pretty and feminine.

Full description
This evening clutch bag has been made from a base fabric of a piece of vintage French tray cloth which has some pulled work as decoration. I have added old crochet doilies and lace motifs and pieces of silk fabric. There is extensive handstitching and beadwork to build up the layers and create the design. I always stitch intuitively so there is no plan or pattern. The bag is lined with repurposed cotton fabric and has a zip closure.
