When I first saw this old used beer tap on sale in a very grubby state, it spoke to me and I knew I could make a fantastic bar themed lamp from it! The project grew in the making with the addition of the lamp in the base to what you see here.

A quirky and unique pub/bar themed decorative table lamp built around a brass and ceramic draught beer tap or pump.
I have modified the handle parts by removing the internal tie rod and replacing it with a custom-made tube for the wiring, drilling out the end fittings and fitting a brass SES (E14) lampholder to the top.
Using the original bar mounting plinth as the top, I constructed a box from reclaimed hardwood with a glazed and hinged front door and an internal lamp to light up the lilac coloured glass panel from inside. There is a printed and laminated sign, with the word ‘BAR’, mounted behind the glass.
The woodwork of the base is stained to match, French polished and finished with high quality beeswax polish for a nice sheen.
The base unit has a toggle switch mounted in the back panel which switches both bulbs simultaneously and the original dispenser pipe has been fitted to the base for effect.
6 feet/1.8 metres of luxury new but period look black braided flex with a black UK plug complete this charismatic lamp.
