Upcycled/repurposed steampunk and industrial themed lighting. All with economical mains voltage LED lamps to help with your bill and save the planet!
I welcome custom orders and commissions so if you have something you would like making, repurposing or restoring, get in touch and let’s talk about what we could achieve.
I have seen other lamps made from old fuel cans like this, with holes drilled into the cans and caps and garish paint jobs. When I got this can, I was determined to do it differently and preserve the can and its character.

Full description
A perfect lamp for a petrol-head, a wonderfully quirky and different fuel can lamp fixed onto a BP branded 2-gallon petrol can manufactured by Reads of Liverpool in 1939 (stamped on the base). These cans are quite rare and with that in mind, I have converted it to a table lamp without drilling any holes either in the can or its original brass cap. The copper stem for the lamp fixes onto the cap with four small screws through the original lockwire holes in the cap. Secondly, I have preserved the can in its original condition, without adding any new paint or making any attempt to remove the dents that come with age and use, I have cleaned off any loose rust and given the steel a coat of preserving beeswax and buffed it up.
I made the lamp stem from reclaimed copper water pipe with custom brass fittings – including an old blowlamp nozzle - and fitted a brass ES lampholder which holds the 4.5W spiral filament LED bulb. 6 feet/1.8 metres of luxury black braided flex with a black inline switch and plug complete this unique character lamp.
