I’m not sure what inspired me to make this piece other than I wanted to try something abstract and completely original. I just started drawing and basically let the pen go where it wanted. The result reminds me of a fan. Therefore, I’ve describe it as a colourful abstract fan. I’m really pleased with result.

Full description

A handmade stained glass multi-coloured piece that I describe as an ‘abstract fan’

.

I used the tiffany technique where each hand cut piece of glass is ground along the edges to ensure that they are smooth and fit together well. Sticky copper foil tape is burnished onto the edges of the glass pieces so that they can be soldered together. I applied a black patina to the solder to give the appearance of leading.

There are 2 small hooks and strong ‘invisible’ nylon thread for hanging

Size approx. Height 15.5 cm, Width 20 cm

The result reminds me of a fan. Therefore, I’ve describe it as a colourful abstract fan. I’m really pleased with result.
