Full description
A handmade stained glass piece featuring 5 colourful abstract sailing boats on the ocean, with the sky and sun above. I used the tiffany technique where each hand cut piece of glass is ground along the edges to ensure that they are smooth and fit together well. Sticky copper foil tape is burnished onto the edges of the glass pieces so that they can be soldered together. I applied a black patina to the solder to give the appearance of leading.
There are 2 small hooks and strong ‘invisible’ nylon thread for hanging
As a child I enjoyed family holidays by the seaside watching boats sailing past. I still do, although I live a long way from the coast. This design was adapted from a piece I made several years ago at stained glass classes.
