I am happy to wrap and send gifts direct to recipients with a note - just specify their delivery address when you check out (I use either special delivery or track 24 so you can follow it round the country to the recipient). I cut and polish my own fordite, surfite and bowlerite, I'm happy to take commissions. If I don't have shipping to your country set up please drop me a message as it might be possible.

These dainty drop earrings have have teardrops of fordite hanging beneath ovals of malachite, all the stones have been bezel set in sterling silver and then finished with posts and scrolls (also sterling silver). The fordite is predominantly a sage grey colour with broad streaks of black, green and white with a hint of orange creeping in at one edge. The patterns don't match but the drops were cut from the same piece of rough so they work as a pair. I've opted to highlight the green by pairing it with mid green malachite cabochons at the top. The drops measure approx 20mm (35mm from the top, the post isn't at the top of the malachite) by 13mm but fordite is surprisingly lightweight so they would be comfortable to wear all day. Comes in a gift box.
Fordite is the name given to many layers of cured paint that builds up in spray booths at vehicle factories, the paint gets baked hard in between each layer leading to a durable material that can be cut to show off the colours. This particular material was sold to me as coming from a tractor factory (possibly a Ford plant in Dearborn, USA) in the 1930's and the colours are certainly consistent with the paint charts I've found for that era. I cut this material myself from the slabettes I bought so if you want me to make you something else drop me a message. Fordite is becoming increasingly hard to source thanks to more efficient painting processes so if you love vehicles get some of the unique material whilst you can.
