I had a delivery of gorgeous new glass and as I checked it out of the box I realised that I had a sunset just waiting to be made. I felt inspired and so I designed and made this.

Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
I've called it Sunset Ripples and I hope you can see why.
Using some rather gorgeous new types of glass, just arrived, I have formed ripples of sea at the bottom and of sunset clouds above with a yellow sun in the middle..
The colouring is quite dramatic and the overall effect rather gorgeous, I think so anyway..
I've framed the picture in clear glass with a pretty texture for good effect and then with a strengthening border of twisted wire.
This looks lovely when it hangs in the light of a window but can equally be used as a picture against a plain wall..
It is 13cm x 8cm and hangs from a strong silvery chain which is securely attached to the top.
All my pieces are unique. I use different shades, textures of glass to ensure that everything I make, even when to the same pattern, is different.
