Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass.
Sometimes tiny gas bubbles, mineral crystals and rock debris are trapped within the lava as it cools, and these cause reflecting light to give a metallic sheen,
The colour of this sheen gives rise to 'gold-sheen', 'silver-sheen or 'rainbow' Obsidian.
Obsidian is thought to promote emotional balance and clarity of mind.
Labradorite is a feldspar mineral that exhibits 'labradorescence' - flashes of electric blue/green - in the light.
It was once believed that this flash was the Northern Lights captured in the stone.
This has lead to the belief that the stone has many mystical properties, and associations with intuition, self awareness and the awakening of the inner spirit.

Monochrome necklace featuring a centrepiece of five Silver Sheen Obsidian beads set between rows of five AAA grade faceted labradorite highlighted with 2mm black Onyx and 3mm sterling silver 'stardust' beads.
The necklace graduates to 6mm and 4mm Obsidian, separated by more Labradorite and silver.
The larger Obsidian beads are 'Silver Sheen', meaning they are black with silvery flashes in the light.
The smaller beads are mainly black, with some subtle rainbow flashes of blue/green.
The AAA grade faceted Labradorite beads are a delicate, translucent grey with a lovely sparkle and flashes of labradorescence that are very difficult to catch on camera.
The necklace fastens with a stylish sterling silver toggle clasp.
Elegant, monochrome necklace that will match any outfit, making this an excellent choice as a birthday present, anniversary gift or as a treat for yourself.

This necklace measures approximately 16 inches 413cm), contact me about altering the length of any of my designs via the 'contact' button in the shop banner.
