My neighbour has been restoring a 1950s BSA Bantam and this wheel rim was removed as it had a few rust spots. I thought it would still make a great and quirky lamp, so stabilised the rust, polished it up and made what you see here.

Full description
A statement chrome table lamp, made from a repurposed vintage 1950s BSA Bantam wheel rim, which combines contemporary, industrial and steampunk styles. I have secured the wheel to a salvaged wood base and fitted a new lampholder to hold a 4.5-Watt LED globe lamp with a spiral filament in the centre of the rim. This reflects the light from the chrome to form an attractive halo effect.
As the wheel rim is reclaimed vintage, it comes with some small marks and rust from its previous long working life. The lamp is secured onto a base made from reclaimed wood which I have sanded, dyed and French polished to give a nice sheen, it has an integral toggle switch and stands on four felt pads to protect your furniture.
