Mistletoe has always fascinated me, its intricate form like a mathematical equation, its milky berries with fine veins like that of gooseberries.
I set myself the challenge to grow mistletoe from seed, wiped onto the branch of an apple tree as the mistletoe thrush do. It grew, slowly at first then multiplied every year.
So I have this unusual evergreen form from which to take inspiration from for Christmas decorations.

A festive stained glass Mistletoe Bauble for your Christmas tree, window, porch or neutral interior wall.
This hand painted circular Mistletoe hanging will welcome visitors to your house this Christmas.
Ideas for my designs are dictated by the seasons plants and shape of the piece of glass.
Sketches and water colours from observation develop into hand drawn patterns forming shapes of festive foliage and berries.
Traditional stained glass painting techniques include black pigment to trace the design onto the glass, this is fired in the kiln to make it permanent.
Coloured enamels are then painted onto the glass and the piece is returned returned to the kiln to be fired a second time.
Each piece can return to the kiln several times until the desired effect is achieved, this is a time honoured procedure.
Copper foil is the attached to the edges of the glass and tinned, handmade copper wire hooks are added from which the piece can be hung.
Patina is applied to turn the soldered edges black, achieving the leaded glass look.
Every piece is signed and gift wrapped on dispatch, why not gift this unique piece or perhaps treat yourself.
Each piece of Vanessa Hall Glass is lovingly made from my garden workshop in Tiverton, Devon UK.
Solder contains Lead & Tin, wash hands after handling.
