Bumblebees are sadly in decline, they are the only bee other than the honey bee which make honey but this honey is solely used to rear their young.
I grow as many beneficial plants as I can to help support bees in our garden throughout the year.
This little Suncatcher celebrates our native bumblebees. I have used gold leaf on the bumblebees and within the Combe to show the value of our bumblebees as essential pollinators.
As I work from my garden workshop I hear the hum of the bees at work as they visit the flowers, they are a joy to me.

Full description

A sweet hand painted stained glass Bumblebee Sun Catcher for your window or porch door.

This charming little glass hanging will glint in the sunshine, displaying bumble bees hard at work amongst the honeycomb which is embellished with Gold Leaf.

This unique piece would make the perfect gift for any bee lover, gardener or Teacher.

Stained glass techniques are used to produce this miniature panel.

The bees are traced onto the glass using black pigment & glass enamels are used to depict the comb and the letter B.

The glass is then fired in the kiln to make the design permanent.

Copper foil is applied to the edge of the glass which is tinned with solder and a hook is attached.

Patina is applied to turn the tinned edge black and a ribbon is threaded to hang the piece.

To care for this piece wipe gently with a soft dry cloth.

The piece will be gift wrapped at no extra charge and carefully packed in a Jiffy bag to be sent via Royal Mail 1st class.

Each piece of Vanessa Hall Glass is lovingly designed & made by me from my garden workshop in Devon, UK.

Please note that Solder contains Tin & Lead, wash hands after handling.
