Upcycled/repurposed steampunk and industrial themed lighting. All with economical mains voltage LED lamps to help with your bill and save the planet!
I welcome custom orders and commissions so if you have something you would like making, repurposing or restoring, get in touch and let’s talk about what we could achieve.
The nozzle of this blowlamp did not suit conversion, so I adapted it to make a table lamp using the tank as a base and some brass parts salvaged from an old wall lamp. It’s come out quite nicely too; historic and quirky!

Full description
A distinctive steampunk style brass table lamp built around a brass blowlamp tank. The blowlamp arrived at my workshop with very heavy patina, which I cleaned off to reveal maker’s marks that indicate it to have originally been manufactured by B A Hjorth (Primus) in Sweden, sometime between 1896 and 1911! It also has a dealer’s plate from R Melhuish, of Fetter Lane, London, one of the big British supply companies of the time. I removed the nozzle and fitted a brass ES lampholder on a curved brass tube with an imitation gas stop valve. I cleaned and polished the brass but have made no attempt to get a high polish or repair the dents and scratches that hark back to its working life and make this a unique piece with real industrial character.
The bulb fitted in the photos is a 4.5W LED spiral filament G95 globe with an ES (E27) fitting and will be supplied with the blowlamp. 5 feet/1.5 metres of black, period look, braided 3 core flex with a black inline switch and black plug complete this unique lamp.
