Full description
A vintage 1950s solid brass paraffin blowlamp skilfully repurposed into a decorative mains electric table lamp. I have cleaned and polished the brass before carefully converting it to the lamp you see pictured, using only quality new electrical parts. Note that the nozzle part of the shroud has not been cut back and that the brass bulb holder is completely hidden inside the shroud, retaining the proportions and look of the vintage blowlamp. I have made no attempt to repair or hide the dents and scratches that make this piece unique and give it real industrial character.
The bulb that is fitted in the photos is a 3w flicker flame effect candle shape with a SBC (B15d) fitting and will be supplied with the blowlamp. Please note that this bulb is designed for decorative effect and would not be suitable for general room lighting or reading as it just produces a lovely red/orange flickering glow, much as the blowlamp’s flame would have. 1.6 metres of pecan, period look, braided 3 core flex fitted with a black inline switch and black plug complete the lamp.
